ESL has announced a partnership with Amazon.com, which will become the official sponsor of the upcoming IEM San Jose event. The deal sees Amazon put up $25,000 towards increasing the event's prize pool, but it is unclear if this figure will be distributed equally between the CS:GO and the League of Legends tournaments. Hardware from IEM's sponsors, including Intel and BenQ, is available at an exclusive discount at Amazon.com/IEM, with a percentage of the sales going towards increasing the prize money for both tournaments even further.
IEM San Jose will take place from November 21-22 at the SAP Center, with eight teams duking it out in a single-elimination, best-of-three bracket.
Seven teams have received direct invitations to compete in the tournament, while the final spot will go to the winner of the iBUYPOWER CS:GO Invitational, taking place this weekend. |
