mousesports pick up two crucial points to top ELEAGUE Group E for the time being with two close victories over Echo Fox (16-12 on Cobblestone and 16-13 on Train). The second day of ELEAGUE Group E promised a definite set of games as the group has so far not played out according to script with all three of yesterday's best-of-two games being split series. The first match-up saw MOUZ taking on Echo Fox with the former team seeking to top their group following a 3-2 standing. It was Echo Fox however who got the jump start on Cobblestone with a fast T-side push that saw Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir pick up two important kills. After their anti-eco wins and the first gunround however, Echo Fox were unable to muster a single round on the first half as Chris "chrisJ" de Jong and his team warmed up and closed out the half 11-4.
freakazoid again left his mark on the second pistolround with a triple kill and injected some hope into Echo Fox's campaign to win the map with solid defense. But with 19-year-old Nikola "NiKo" Kovač securing entry kills across multiple rounds and Timo "Spiidi" Richter having a strong game in particular, mousesports began to pick up much needed T-side rounds. Despite eight CT-side rounds for Echo Fox, mousesports' efforts were enough as they closed out the map 16-12. ELEAGUE Season 1Best of 1
Train was the second map in the series and Daniel "roca" Gustaferri and Ronnie "ryx" Bylicki clobbered mousesports on their T-side aggression on the first pistolround and began the half on the right foot for Echo Fox. Despite losing the first gunround, Echo Fox managed to still buy an AWP for Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan and the story of the first half was the 22-year-old AWPer going off and shutting down mouseports across the board. Spiidi picked up a one-versus-two clutch for his team and Johannes "nex" Maget had a crucial three kill round at the end of the first half, but it was ultimately Echo Fox who finished the half with an 11-4 lead.
In a pretty depressing manner for North American Counter-Strike however, mousesports quickly seized the second pistolround and nearly every single round of the second half, with chrisJ particularly on point and Echo Fox looking lost and frustrated. Despite a two round comeback at match point by Echo Fox, mousesports took the map 16-13. ELEAGUE Season 1Best of 1
